PingWeather Privacy Policy
Truth Centered Tech, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the PingWeather mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use PingWeather. We are headquartered in Virginia and comply with the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA) and applicable federal law.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. Your password is encrypted by our authentication provider and is never accessible to us.
- Location Data: When you add a location for weather monitoring, you may enter an address or share your device's current GPS coordinates. We store the name you assign to the location and its precise coordinates. We do not track your location continuously or in the background — location is only accessed when you explicitly tap "Use My Location."
- Alert Preferences: The weather conditions, thresholds, and notification rules you configure.
Information Collected Automatically
- Push Notification Token: A device token generated by Expo's notification service, used solely to deliver weather alerts to your device.
- Usage Data: Basic records of alert triggers and history retained according to your subscription tier (7 days on Free, 30 days on Pro, 90 days on Premium).

3. Third Parties We Share Data With
We share data only as necessary to operate the App:

5. Your Rights (Virginia VCDPA)
As a Virginia resident, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your personal data
- Obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable format
- Opt out of the sale of your personal data (we do not sell data)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@truthcenteredtech.com. We will respond within 45 days as required by the VCDPA.
If you are a resident of another state with applicable privacy laws, we will honor comparable rights to the extent required by your state's law.
6. Data Security
All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses TLS encryption (HTTPS). Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (Android Keystore). Your password is hashed and is never stored or accessible in plain text. We apply row-level security to ensure users can only access their own data.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but maintain industry-standard practices.
7. Children's Privacy
PingWeather is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@truthcenteredtech.com and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
